Environmental Organizations in Edmonton Where You Can Volunteer

Are you interested in volunteering around the city, but aren’t sure where to look? If you’re a lover of the environment and are ready to start volunteering, we’ve got you covered.

Volunteering is not only great experience, but can be a valuable, enriching way to spend your time and make new connections.

There are several organizations that recruit volunteers in Edmonton, so we’ve narrowed it down to a select few:

Root for Trees

Via Root for Trees, City of Edmonton

Root for Trees is a very popular organization, and their volunteer roster fills up quickly, so apply when you can! They are a tree planting initiative with the City of Edmonton.

This organization is all about sustaining and preserving Canada’s wilderness. They have volunteering opportunities in a variety of areas.

If you’re interested in conservation of Alberta’s land, this is the organization for you. Most of their volunteers work out in the field, and it’s very hands on!

Partners in Parks

This is another City-based program. If you love gardening, this is the ideal volunteering opportunity. Partners in Parks allows volunteers to make the city look more beautiful and preserved by gardening public spaces, cleaning up, weeding, watering, and so on.
