Companies and organizations that strive to make a difference in the community are often worth supporting. That’s why we wanted to compile a list of five well-known companies who are using their platforms for good.
Starbucks is a global brand that has taken major steps to give back to the community a promote sustainability. They state that their products, especially their coffee beans, are ethically sourced. In addition, they created the Starbucks Foundation, which has a variety of initiatives focused on education, natural disaster relief, and more.
They also have made large strides recently to combat the issue of plastic waste; They announced that they will be phasing out plastic straws and replacing them with new lids that allow the consumer to sip the product easily (kind of like an adult sippy-cup…but cooler). These lids are already in circulation, and can be asked for in place of the regular iced-drink lid and straw.
